Michael J. Neustadter Mind, Body, Spirit Center
AtlantiCare dedicated the Michael J. Neustadter Mind, Body, Spirit Center at the AtlantiCare Cancer Care Institute, a Fox Chase Cancer Center Partner, on July 26. Friends and family attended the event to honor the late Michael J. Neustadter, who joined AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s (ARMC) Board of Governors in 1995 and led the Board from mid-1999 through 2003. He served as chairman of the AtlantiCare Board of Trustees from 2007 until his death in January, 2012.
“It was Michael’s persistence, passion and sense of purpose that guided our thinking and encouraged the AtlantiCare family to bring the AtlantiCare Cancer Care Institute and other services to our communities, so patients could get their treatment in a supportive environment, closer to their homes and their family,” said David P. Tilton, president and CEO, AtlantiCare. “He and I talked on many occasions about the importance of treating the whole person – the whole family. It is very fitting that we dedicate the Mind, Body and Spirit Center in Michael’s name.”
“Michael was actively involved in helping AtlantiCare achieve its vision of building healthy communities, creating trusting relationships and advancing the quality of our services,” said Eugene Arnone, chairman of the AtlantiCare Board of Trustees. “He continues to inspire us to make life better for our patients and our communities.”
The Michael J. Neustadter Mind, Body, Spirit Center is located on the second floor of AtlantiCare’s Cancer Care Institute in the AtlantiCare Health Park at 2500 English Creek Avenue, Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. It includes 12 infusion bays designed for patient and family comfort and privacy. The calm, tranquil setting incorporates positive distractions including views of and references to nature, and use of the healing arts to create an ambiance of peacefulness for patients, family and staff. A multidisciplinary team of passionate, experienced caregivers, including physicians, oncology-certified nurses, social workers, pharmacists, nutritionists and support staff treat the whole person and support his or her family and loved ones.
